The purpose of this thread is for people to post information about someone who served, ideally accompanied by a photo. The idea is to put a name to a face on a memorial or casualty list and to build up a database of people who served without much in the way of recognition.
Please don't post unidentified photos as that would defeat the purpose.

Pte Thomas O'Grady and Pte Michael Fahy. Both Royal Irish Regt. Thomas O'Grady was from Clashavadra, Clerihan, Co. Tipperary and Michael Fahy was from Woodinstown, New Inn, Co. Tipperary. Thomas survived the Great War but Michael was killed on 21st August 1918 near Flers, France.

580583 Sgt William Mullally, 107 Squadron, RAF. KIA 19th April 1940 Bill Mullally was born in Clonmel 8th January 1919, son of John and Theresa nee Kennedy Mullally. His family were from Mullinahone. He was educated in Dublin and Galway and joined the RAF on 19th December 1938. He served in 82 Sqdn and 101 Sqdn before joining 107 Sqdn in January 1940. 107 Sqdn was operating Blenheim bombers. On 19th April1940 107 Squadron left Lossiemouth, Scotland to bomb an airfield at Sola, near Stavenger, Norway in support of the British Army. Of the nine aircraft sent on the mission, seven abandoned due to lack of cloud cover. Of the remaining two one bombed an airfield while Bill Mullally's aircraft disappearedover the North Sea. It is believed to have been shot down by Feldwebel Lothar Linke of ZG 76. KIA were the Pilot Sgt Peter Chivers, age 19 from Purley, Surrey, W/OP/Gunner AC2 Henry Greggan, 18 from Bootle Lancashire and Bombardier/Navigator Sgt Bill Mullally age 21 from Mullinahone, Co. Tipperary. Their bodies were never recovered and they are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. Bill Mullally is commemorated on the family headstone in Mullinahone.

1673 Pte John Darmody, 26th Bn, Australian Imperial Forces. Born in Normanton, Queensland in April 1891. His father was John Darmody from Powerstown, Clonmel. Darmody enlisted 20th May 1915 in Brisbane. He was posted to Egypt in August 1915, and to France in March 1916. Pte Darmody was wounded in the legs and shoulder during 7th Brigade's attack on Pozieres on 5th August 1916. He was evacuated to the 1st South General Hospital in Birmingham, England, where he died of his wounds on the 24th August 1916. His Uncle subsequently claimed his body and sent it to Ireland for burial in Powerstown Graveyard. cas.awm.gov.au/photograph/P07759.001

812192 Pte Patrick O'Dwyer, 50th Bn, Canadian Infantry. Son of Mr. and Mrs. James O'Dwyer, Cappawhite, Co. Tipperary. Husband of Nancy O'Dwyer, of Vibank, Saskatchewan, Canada. KIA Vimy Ridge, 10th April 1917 age 45. He is buried in Canadian Cemetery No 2, Neuville-St. Vaast, France. Easter Monday 1917 was in fact 9th April, the day that the Canadians launched the attack that captured Vimy Ridge. 55914 Cpl Bill Shaw. Bill served in the Machine Gun Corps in France. He was born in Irishtown, Clonmel in July 1888 and died in 1976 in Clonmel. He worked as a Postman before the war, enlisted on 17th March 1915 and was discharged on 1st March 1919. Bill's brother, John Shaw, was a reservist in the Royal Irish Regiment and a Boer War veteran. I remember a Bill Shaw living in Ardnagreine in the 1940s.He was an insurance agent. He was married twice and had a son Jim by his first wife
